Making In, le rendez-vous international des créateurs de haute facture, explore la création comme un geste partagé pour sa 8eme édition intitulée “COMMON” ⭕

Pendant deux jours, “Making In” fait dialoguer disciplines, matières et imaginaires à travers des conversations, des performances, des projections et des rencontres. Au cœur du comté de Cork, dans la campagne irlandaise, les échanges se mêlent aux œuvres monumentales, aux gestes du faire, et au paysage irlandais.

Cette année, “Making In” accueille Zita Cobb (Shorefast), Hella Jongerius (Jongeriuslab), Humberto Campana (Estúdio Campana), Martin Rauch (Lehm Ton Erde), Gus Casely-Hayford (V&A East), Javier Marín, MILOŠ, Frère Paolo ou encore Cloé Pitiot (Centre des Monuments Nationaux)… Une édition marquée aussi par le dialogue Irlande–Japon à travers la sculpture Magnus RINN, également présentée à l’Exposition universelle d'Osaka, et l’exposition RINN: An Ireland–Japan Dialogue on Making, Place and Time, à la Glucksman Gallery (Cork).

Curves of Times

In the rolling countryside of County Cork, Ireland, past hedgerows and winding lanes, an 18th-century farmhouse in Fartha hums with the sound of hammers, chisels, and sanders as hands coax wood into improbable shapes that split and then converge, giving the sensation of movement. This is Joseph Walsh’s studio, founded when he was 20 years old. It began as a young man’s desire to make things and has evolved into one of the world’s most respected design studios. Amidst sweeping loops, swirls, ripples, and ribbons of oak, ash, and walnut, one senses that he is not simply shaping furniture or sculpture. It is an experience, an invitation to inhabit form as a gesture suspended.
